ORGANIZATION TO PROMOTE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT AFRICA

Our Mission

The African continent has always hosted peoples. Thousands of tribes, ethnicities, emperors and empresses. As all other communities, ours have grown and evolved through time, in the most astounding of ways. Our continent’s nature and histories make us the pinnacle of abundance, be it socially, culturally, value-wise, or talent-wise.

History, media, and global power orders have brought us to considerably overlook and downplay ourselves, focusing our attentions on the whole outside world but us. We lost sight of the value of our skin tones, the beauty of our hairs, the glory of our heroes, the power of our minds, the warmth of our cultures, and the extent of our abilities.

OPKA therefore aims to be this worldwide and daily reminder. We work to reconnect African populations with their continent.

OPKA Incubation & OPKA Workshops

OPKA started off as online events for 16 to 30 year-olds across the globe, willing to keep track of their homes’ hot news and evolutions, while meeting and being in touch with fellow patriots.

AYA by OPKA

The latest of our programs was launched at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year from the assessment of a need for a warm and open space for African youths to receive listening, support, and guidance.

Afro Workbooks by OPKA

Over the summer of 2023, OPKA went on to commercialize the Afro Workbooks it created in order to further its educative work. The two versions of the workbook focused on portraying astonishing African histories and a diverse geography, target a new category of youth : the 7-to-14 year-olds.

Our goals

1. Create positive consciousness about Africa in Africa;

2. Complement youths’ traditional educative experiences with a new learning experience;

3. Trigger upskilling and shape leaders.

OPKA is…

  • +75 students

    certified by our workshops

  • +70 alumnis

    from our debates program

  • 35+ conferences

    and debates

Our vision is one of an Africa where…

…the 1 billion citizens are aware of their powerful and wealthy pasts;

…the 1 billion citizens are aware of the current and growing successes on their continent;

…the 1 billion citizens are highly connected to and protective of their identities;

…the 1 billion citizens can provide for their needs thanks to stable jobs on site;

…the 1 billion citizens engage in efforts to do their bit for their continent’s thriving;

…the 1 billion citizens view each other with fraternal, supportive, and protective eyes.
